Pit Wall Stopwatch Privacy Policy

Summary

Pit Wall Stopwatch does not require an account, login, subscription, or payment.

Timing works fully offline. Optional usage analytics is off by default in iOS 1.2.0 and later. Earlier iOS versions and the current Android app do not collect this analytics. The app does not use advertising SDKs, location services, camera access, microphone access, or contacts access.

Information Stored On Your Device

Pit Wall Stopwatch stores stopwatch information locally on your device so the app can work properly. This may include:

• timing sessions
• lap and split times
• driver labels that you enter
• app settings, such as sound, haptics, glove mode, tap guard, and display preferences
• restore information for an active timing session

Timing sessions, lap and split times, driver labels and restore data are stored on your device and are not included in usage analytics. If you enable analytics, only the limited usage information described below is sent to PostHog.

CSV Export And Sharing

If you choose to export or share timing data, Pit Wall Stopwatch creates a CSV file from your completed laps and opens your device share sheet.

The CSV may include lap times, split times, and labels that you entered. You choose where to send or save the file. Once you share it with another app, service, or person, that destination handles the file under its own terms and privacy policy.

Device Features And Permissions

On Android, Pit Wall Stopwatch requests vibration permission so it can provide haptic feedback during stopwatch use.

The app may also use device sound and keep-screen-awake features if you enable them in the app. These features are used only for stopwatch feedback and usability.

Data We Do Not Collect

Pit Wall Stopwatch does not collect or send us:

• your name
• your email address
• your phone number
• your location
• your contacts
• payment information
• photos or videos
• advertising identifiers
• crash analytics
• account credentials

Optional Usage Analytics — iOS 1.2.0 And Later

Analytics is optional and off by default. You can enable or disable it in Settings. A dismissible invitation appears after a completed lap only when clocks are stopped. All offline timing works with analytics off.

After consent, PostHog EU Cloud in Frankfurt receives accepted control and layout usage events, skin, driver count, split visibility, app version and build, event dates, and an installation-random Analytics ID. This ID links activity to a normal PostHog person profile so we can measure repeat use. No login, name, email address, or Apple advertising identifier is used.

Analytics excludes driver labels, lap and split values, CSV files, location, free text, contacts, account details, and advertising IDs. There is no autocapture or screen recording. Network providers receive the source IP address to deliver requests; the Pit Wall project discards client IP data and disables geographic enrichment.

Disabling analytics stops capture, cancels the active request, clears unsent events, and removes the local Analytics ID. Giving consent again creates a new ID. Opting out or uninstalling does not delete data already received by PostHog.

Support Requests

If you contact us for support, you may choose to provide information such as your email address, device model, operating system version, app version, screenshots, or a description of the issue.

We use support information only to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, and improve the app. Do not send sensitive personal information in support messages.

Data Retention And Deletion

To request analytics deletion, save your Analytics ID or deletion request from Settings before opting out or uninstalling, then send it to motorsporthub-teamsa@outlook.com. We delete the matching person profile and associated events using PostHog's standard person deletion. Processing is asynchronous. You do not need to send driver names, lap times, or CSV files.

Normal PostHog storage applies. The current pay-as-you-go event query window is seven years; this is not a guarantee of automatic erasure. We do not promise deletion after 90 days. See PostHog's event-retention documentation and person-deletion documentation.

Stopwatch data stored by the app remains on your device until you reset it in the app, clear the app data, or uninstall the app.

CSV files that you export are controlled by you and by the destination app or service you choose.

Support emails or messages may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to handle the support request and maintain support records.

Children

Pit Wall Stopwatch is not directed at children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Pit Wall Stopwatch is designed to keep stopwatch data local to your device unless you choose to export or share it. You are responsible for the information you enter into labels or exported files.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this privacy policy if the app changes or if store requirements change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
